Speed Networking Events Make For Better Conferences After The Last Two Years.

When planning an in-person conference, all the people involved in the planning (meeting planners, speakers, sponsors, etc…) need to think about how to ensure AMAZING NETWORKING at the event.

As we return to face-to-face / in-person events the need for great networking experiences at conferences are more important than ever. People want to connect after two years of only virtual meetings.

While some people LOVE LOVE LOVE the virtual only world, others miss going to business events to learn and connect.

Adding a speed networking event to your conference, especially if in the beginning, many help get people primed to chat and mingle. After all this time, some are feeling socially awkward. They need a booster shot of “HOW TO NETWORK”.

Speed networking sessions, if well facilitated, will help people meet people at your conference and have a better time while on site (and more follow up after your event).

People come to conferences for two reasons: The learning and the networking. But after the last two years we learned we can deliver much of the content via online platforms. However the networking is harder to replicate in a virtual meeting.

As people come back to conferences they are going to demand great experiences and this includes the networking. For the past decade I have been known as “The Conference Catalyst” and help create an atmosphere at in-person events for better connecting. Now I am seeing a bigger demand than ever, and many clients want SPEED NETWORKING.

I suggest planners do this session as a “Pre-con” and have the speed networking session set the tone for more networking at any conference.

Here is the video I recorded on the subject (via YouTube). https://youtu.be/RIj0hYrEWyw

Please let me know what you think about Speed Networking and what ways you suggest to encourage connections.
